The AORS categories will be used for The Doctor.
Categories – Male and Female of the following:
Category note: For prizes and awards there must be at least 5 entries in the category. Where there are less than 5 entries then those competitors will be moved to the next most relevant category.
Competitors’ age category is based on your age as of the 1st January 2022. For example, if you are 17 on the 1st January 2022 you can race the Under 17 category.
All competitors are automatically entered in the Open Ski category of their discipline. For example a 45-year-old Ski Paddler enters the Over 40 Ski (40-49yrs) category he will also be entered in the Open Ski category.
Competitors can only enter one category. For example a 50 year old entered in the SLSA Ski is not eligible for Over 50 Ski (50-59yrs) points and prizes, only SLSA Ski and Open Ski.

**** Entries close at midnight on Thursday 17th November 2022 for all events to prepare for WA Race Week. No late entries will be taken after this date.
Craft Transport to Rottnest Island Fee
This is for transport of your craft only to Rottnest Island on the barge Oceanpaddler organise. Numbers are limited. You can book this when entering online.
- $50 for all single craft
- $70 for all double craft

There is also the option to take your craft on the ferry with Rottnest Fast Ferries. You will need to book this directly with them.
The Ferry Ticket is not included in your entry fee. You must book your ferry ticket to Rottnest Island or arrange your own transport to Rottnest.

There are other Ferry companies that also run from Hillarys Marina and Fremantle to Rottnest Island.
Entry Refunds & Cancellations
Postponement due to COVID-19
If the event is not able to proceed due to ongoing restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic the event will be postponed to 2023. Entrants should take this into consideration when entering. If the event is postponed due to Covid-19 all entries will be carried over to the 2023 event date. If you require a refund, please submit a request in writing within 2 weeks of the postponement. Our normal Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to all other refund requests as outlined below.
Normal Entry Refunds and Cancellations
Entry cancellations can be made up to two weeks before the event date when a refund (less 20% administration fee) will be made. Refunds will not be given after this date. Please send requests for refunds in writing to email@example.com. If the event has to be cancelled due to weather conditions or natural disasters or any other reason so deemed by the organisers, the event will be rescheduled where possible and no refunds will be issued.
*A note on Insurance
The event organiser, Oceanpaddler, has public liability insurance. This does not include or cover personal accident insurance for the competitors. All other insurances are the sole responsibility of the competitors.
