Competitors travel to Rottnest Island by ferry or their own transport.

Rottnest Fast Ferries are our preferred carrier for transporting our competitors over to Rottnest Island providing a 20% discount to all competitors, friends and family on a one-way ticket (excluding Rottnest Island Admission Fee).  

You must book your ferry ticket directly with Rottnest Fast Ferries. It is not included in your entry fee. Ensure you book your ticket early so you do not miss out.

The ferry leaves Hillarys Marina located just near Sorrento Beach SLSC and Sorrento Beach Resort. 

You will need to get the 7.30am Ferry as all competitors will need to be on Rottnest and checked in at Army Jetty (start location) by 10am. The 2024 event will be starting anytime from 10am onwards. Do not get the 10am ferry as you will miss the check-in time.  

The ferry can take a minimal number of craft such as skis and boards (max 20) for an additional cost. You must book this if you want to take it on the ferry. Oceanpaddler organises a barge to take the majority of craft over to the island. Click here for information.
