Open to SLSA Spec prone paddleboards and 16yrs & under SLSA Spec surf ski paddlers.

In what is already an action packed Shaw and Partners WA Race Week, this midweek showdown promises non-stop excitement on the water and an electric atmosphere on the beach.

Perfect for spectators, Sorrento Beach offers a front-row seat to all the action as paddlers race the clock and each other in this high-energy twilight dash. Spectators can follow the race along the famous boardwalk, WAs best ocean viewing platform.

In the SLSA Prone Paddleboard division, there’s a whopping $40,000 in cash up for grabs — $20,000 each for the Men’s and Women’s categories, spread across the top 10 finishers!

The winners of the 16yrs & Under Surf Ski Dash (both men and women) will take home a brand new FENN Ocean Ski valued at $4,350, plus a Race One Braca Paddle! 2nd and 3rd place in both will also each receive a brand new Race One Braca Paddle.

Course

Start: Watermans Bay

Finish: Sorrento Beach

Distance: 2km

Competitors will start at Watermans then head north. They will come into the beach to the south of Sorrento, run around a flag, then get back on their boards. They will then continue on, and finish at Sorrento Beach with a short run up to the finish arch.

3.00 – 4.30pm – Registration to collect your rego bag. (There will be no Check-In required to the ipads for this event)
4.45pm – Briefing for U16 Ski Race at Watermans Beach
5.00pm – Start U16 Ski Races
5.25pm – Briefing for Board races at Watermans Beach
5.30pm – Start Board Races
After event – Presentations

For those racing both surf ski and paddleboard races – when you finish the surf ski race you must go straight back up to Watermans Bay ready for the board start.

Event Notes

You must collect your Rego bag at Registration
Collect your PINK Racing singlet from the desk – you can select your size based on availability. Compulsory to wear for this event.
If you already have your rego bag, ensure you have collected your Pink racing singlet (this was not in your rego bag as you need to select your size).
Your rego bag has your TIMING CHIP in it. You must wear your timing chip on your ankle. No timing chip = no time or result.
If racing in the Ski and Board you use the same timing chip.
If you are not racing in anymore Shaw and Partners WA Race Week events return your timing chip by putting it in the collection bin at the finish on the beach.
Shaw and Partners Stickers are supplied in your rego bag. Compulsory to be put on your ski and board. If you need more stickers come and see us.
If you have already collected your rego bag you do not need the Yellow Race number sticker or yellow band. This is only required for the other Shaw and Partners WA Race Week events. If you have put the sticker on your craft already that is also fine.

Presentations

Presentations will take place immediately after the last race. Please head up to the Shaw and Partners Big Tent.
You must be there to receive your prize money or prize.
The Race One Surf Club Lucky Draw will be drawn at the presentation. You must be their to receive the voucher for your surfclub

At the event presentation, we will draw the tickets. If your name is pulled out, your surf club will win!
