Bridge to Beach – 17th April 2011

The Manly Wharf Bridge to Beach is one of Australia’s largest open water paddling events and is regarded as one of the most spectacular in the world.

Participants marshal at Blues Point Reserve for a spectacular sunrise over SydneyHarbour before lining up directly underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge where thestart line is situated. They then paddle past the Sydney Opera House and hug thenorthern shores of Sydney Harbour taking in sights such as Taronga Zoo, Bradley’sHead, Clifton Gardens, North Harbour Reserve and both South and North Head ontheir way to the beautiful Manly Wharf.

But don’t be discouraged for this event isn’t just an elite race, in fact the majority ofparticipants are recreational paddlers who take their time on their 11km journey toManly. You can even do the event as a team in relay format with 2, 4 or more of yourfriends to get to Manly.

Once at Manly Wharf Beach you’ll experience some fantastic hospitality at the Bavarian Bier Cafe and celebrate your efforts with a few cold ales while the other entrants finish and you wait for the presentations.
