- Wind Surf n Snow Course (Short Course,SUPS and Prones)

In Memory Of Charles Stewart
Tomorrow we pay tribute to our good friend to ocean paddling, Charles Stewart. Charles passed away in January 2016 from a heart attack after finishing an ocean paddling session. Charles was instrumental in bringing sports like ours to the public through TV productions via The Wide World of Sports where he worked in the early days, through to coverage of trips like Ningaloo Dreaming and Hamilton Island. Thank you for joining us for Charles’ memorial paddle tomorrow.

Since Charles passing his good friend Guy Leech has been instrumental in getting defibrillators out into the community. Our good friends at Heart 180 are giving away a defib at this race and offering a great deal to those that take part.
To go into the draw to win one of these lifesaving devices for your business, simply bring a business card on the day and drop it into the container provided. Guy Leech will be doing the draw during presentations after the race and one lucky business owner will the Heartsine 360P – RRP $2,195.

Weather for Saturday at 10am is at this stage is as follows:
Wind 11-12 knots South
Swell 1.2-1.4m South
The Course
We have decided to use the Triangle Course. Both the Wind Surf n Snow Short Course and Heart 180 Long Course will be as follows:
- Start at Fishermans Beach
- Out to the back of Makaha
- Makaha to Narrabeen SLSC
- Back to Fishermans Beach
Short Cousre, SUP and Prone – 1 lap
Long Course – 2 laps
The finish will be a run up the beach over the blue timing mat at Fishermans Beach (East of boat ramp)
Event Times
All registrations and briefings will take place at Fishermans Beach, Collaroy (in front of Golf Club).
- 8.30am – Registration opens
- 9.30am – Registration closes
- 9.30am – Briefing
- 10.00am – RACE STARTS – There will be 3 Waves
- Wave 1: Long Course – all Females
- Wave 2: Long Course – all Males and double craft
- Wave 3: Short Course, SUPs, Prones
- Approx 11.30am – Presentations will follow immediately after the event

Please ensure you are familiar with the Rules and Equipment for the event as outlined here. Remember Lifejackets (hi-vis / brightly coloured) and leashes.
