Sunday 13th September

*** Presentations will take place at Felons Manly. Please ensure you have a change of dry gear and shoes – no wet paddling clothes or bare feet please. 

Registration

There are two registration options:

• Saturday morning: At The Chucky event at Fishermans Beach, Collaroy, between 7.30am and 9.30am OR
• Sunday morning: At Blues Point Reserve, McMahons Point, the start location between 6.00am and 7.00am.

You only need to register once.

Race-Day Timings

• 6.00am–7.00am: Registration at Blues Point Reserve
• 7.10am: Mandatory race briefing
• 7.35am: First start wave
• Finish: Manly Wharf
• From approximately 10.00am: Presentations at Felons Manly

Start Waves

The first wave will start at approximately 7.35am, with the remaining waves following shortly afterwards. Timings may vary, so please listen carefully during the race briefing.

• Wave 1 – 7.35am: SUPs, prone paddleboards and coastal rowers, OC6
• Wave 2 – 7.50am: All women’s single surf skis, OC1 all genders, plastic craft all genders and sea kayaks all genders
• Wave 3 – 7.53am: All men’s single surf skis
• Wave 4 – 7.55am: Double surf skis and OC2, all genders

Do not break the start line or you will be disqualified.

If you do not expect to be among the leading contenders, please do not position yourself on the front line.

Cut-Off Times

• 8.30am: Bradleys Head, approximately 3km from the start
• 9.30am: Middle Head, approximately 6.5km from the start

Competitors who do not reach these locations before the designated cut-off times will be directed to the nearest safe exit point.

If you withdraw, you must call or text the event safety number on 0422 554 965 and contact your support person to arrange collection.

The Course

Course map can be found here.

Competitors will paddle to a turning marker near Taronga Zoo before heading directly towards Bradleys Head.

After rounding Bradleys Head, competitors must remain well clear of the shipping channel while travelling towards Middle Head. All green channel markers in this section must remain on your right-hand side.

From Middle Head, competitors will take a course towards Dobroyd Head. The black-and-yellow buoy located east of Dobroyd Head must remain on your right-hand side, meaning competitors must pass to the left of it.

Please follow the directions of race officials and safety boats at all times.

Important Safety Information

• Safety equipment includes a lifejacket, safety leash and mobile phone with EventSafe tracking activated.
• The event safety number is 0422 554 965. Put this in your mobile phone.
• If you register on Saturday and later decide not to race on Sunday, you must text the event safety number to advise us.
• If you withdraw after the race has started, paddle to the nearest safe exit point and notify a race official where possible.
• Your race number/timing number will be recorded and relayed to the finish.
• You must call or text the event safety number if you withdraw.
• Parking at Blues Point Reserve is extremely limited. We strongly recommend being dropped off or paddling to the start from another harbourside location.
• Please be considerate of Blues Point residents and keep noise to a minimum.

Presentations

Presentations will take place at Felons Manly, on the eastern side of Manly Wharf, between 10.00am and 10.30am. Please ensure you have a change of dry gear and shoes – no wet paddling clothes or bare feet please. 

After an awesome morning on the water, head to Felons Manly to relax and enjoy fresh coffee and a delicious breakfast. For those looking to toast their paddle, the bar will also be open with a great selection of cold beverages available to purchase.
