WA Race Week Categories
All AORS Surf Ski categories are eligible for WA Race Week points.
To be eligible for the Bonus Prize Money and Prizes you must compete in all 4 or 5 events corresponding to your category as listed below.
Categories that must compete in all 5 Shaw and Partners WA Race Week Events:
- Open Male and Female Ski (this is Ski Overall – includes all ski age categories)
- Junior Male and Female Ski
- Under 23 Male and Female Ski
- Over 40 Male and Female Ski
- Over 50 Male Ski
Categories that must compete in 4 Shaw and Partner WA Race Week Events: (that is all WA Race Week Events except the Dash for Cash)
- Over 50 Female Ski
- Over 60 Male and Female Ski
- Over 70 Male Ski
- Double Male Ski
- Female Double Ski
- Mixed Double Ski
You must compete in all WA Race Week events applicable to your category and there must be at least 5 competitors in each category having done all applicable WA Race Week events to be eligible for the Bonus Prize Money and Prizes.
As per the AORS, competitors’ age category is based on your age as of the 31st December 2024.
As per the AORS, all competitors are automatically entered in the Ski Overall secondary category of their discipline for the AORS events (all events except the Dash for Cash). For example a 45-year-old Ski Paddler enters the Over 40 Ski (40-49yrs) category he will also be entered in the Ski Overall secondary category.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are a Junior, U23 or Over 40+ competitor and wish to receive points in the Open Ski category to be eligible for WA Race Week Open/Overall Ski points and bonus prize money, then you must race in the Open Ski category of the Dash for Cash as well as your age category. You only need to enter your primary category for the Dash for Cash, and either tick the box during registration or tell us on race day at rego that you wish to race in the Open Ski. There is no additional cost.
How the Points Work
The AORS Point scoring system will be used for the Shaw and Partners WA Race Week for the 4 AORS events – Fenn West Coast Downwind, The Ben Hewitt Sunset Surf Ski Series Race 2 and 3 and Shaw and Partners Doctor.
Points for the Dash for Cash are listed below and outlined on the Dash for Cash event page.
Competitors combined total points across the WA Race Week events (either 4 or 5 events as applicable to your category) will be used to determine overall placings for the Shaw and Partners WA Race Week. Where one or more competitors receives equal overall points the best result in The Doctor will decide the overall position for the WA Race Week.
There must be at least 5 competitors to make a category.

Entries close at midday WST on Wednesday 20th November 2024 for all events to prepare for WA Race Week. No late entries will be taken after this date.

WA Race Week Entry Terms and Conditons
Please read the following entry terms and conditions prior to entering the WA Race Week events.
General Entry Terms & Conditions
If the events are cancelled due to weather conditions or natural disasters or any other reason so deemed by the organisers, the events will be rescheduled where possible and no refunds will be issued.
Event organisers or any of the event sponsors or stakeholders are not responsible for any costs incurred or paid by the participant if any of the events are cancelled, dates changed or start and finish locations changed. This may include ferry tickets to Rottnest Island, transport costs, additional accommodation expenses etc.
Entry Cancellations and Refunds
Entry cancellations can be made up to 31st October 2024.
A refund on event entry fees only, less 20% administration fee, can be provided up to and including the 31st October 2024. Refunds will not be given after this date.
No refunds will be given on the purchase of craft transport on the barge to Rottnest Island, flares or other products or merchandise.

Entry Transfers are not available nor permitted. Under no circumstance are you to give your race number to another person. The safety of our athletes is paramount, therefore we need to ensure we have the correct details of all our athletes. This will result in immediate disqualification of both parties.
A note on Insurance
The event organiser, Oceanpaddler, has public liability insurance. This does not include or cover personal accident insurance for the competitors. All other insurances are the sole responsibility of the competitors.
Bonus Prize Money & Prizes
You must compete in all WA Race Week events applicable to your category and there must be at least 5 competitors in each category having done all applicable WA Race Week events to be eligible for the Bonus Prize Money and Prizes.
You must be present at the presentation to receive the prize money and prizes.
All categories in the WA Race Week will either receive Bonus Prize Money or Prizes.
Win a Shaw and Partners Fenn Ski
Even if you are not in the money you could still be a winner. Enter and compete in all four or five events applicable to your category and you will go into the draw for a Shaw and Partners Fenn Ski.
