It’s race time! The biggest and richest week of ocean paddling is here! The Shaw and Partners WA Race Week. A special thank you to Shaw and Partners for their ongoing support of our sport. 

IF YOU ARE RACING IN THE FENN WEST COAST DOWNWIND EVENT: 

1. You must register at the EventHub – Shaw and Partners Big Tent at Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club –  on Saturday 23rd November between 8.00am and 11.00am.. 

2. You must CHECK-IN from 12.00pm at Port Beach, Fremantle the race start location. 

3. Race shirts (provided) are compulsory to be worn when racing for all events.

4. Shaw and Partner stickers x 2 (black) must be put on your craft. This is compulsory. Please support our major sponsor.

5. If you are ONLY racing in the Fenn West Coast Downwinder then you must return your timing chip and tracker to us after the race.

*** No registrations at Port Beach. You must collect your timing chip, tracker and rego bag first at Sorrento Surf Club at the Event Hub. You can have a friend collect on your behalf.

A Message from Indian Ocean Paddlers – Organisers of the Fenn West Coast Downwinder

Indian Ocean Paddlers (IOP) welcomes you to our 2024 Fenn West Coast Downwinder. 

Note that OC1,OC2 and SUP’s (non foils) will be starting early (approx 1.40pm), and will have a separate race briefing earlier. 

Race briefing all other categories at 1.45 pm.

The race is expected to start at 2pm (except OC1, OC2 and SUPs). 

Please arrive early at Port Beach to make sure you are checked in before the race briefing.

Note: All warm ups to occur prior to race briefing. NO warm ups allowed post race briefing.

Please join the What’s App group to stay up to date with the latest event info during race week. This is the same group as last year so many of you may already be on this group. This will be the quickest way to get info to you during race week.

WA Race Week Registration – Starting Saturday 8am to 11am

• There are several opportunities throughout the week to register. Check the program for times. This will commence on Saturday morning from 8-11am at the Event Hub located at Sorrento SLSC. 

• You must attend registration before you compete in any races to collect your timing chip and rego bag.

Important Items in your Registration Bag

You will receive:

• Timing Chip – to be worn on your ankle for all events. No timing chip = no time.

• Green Tag – this is your race number to be attached to your lifejacket and to refer to for race check-in

• Race Number Sticker – to be placed on the LEFT hand side of your craft

• Shaw and Partner Race Stickers (black) x 2 must be put on your craft. 

• Trackers – (Fenn West Coast Downwinder and Doctor only) – to be placed on your lifejacket at the top.

Race Check-In

• You must be ‘checked-in’ to our timing system via the IPADS at the start of each race at the start location. 

• Provide your race number for check-in.

• Ensure you have the correct safety equipment for the races. Refer to the Program for info.
