Final Event Information: Charles Stewart Memorial Cup – 24th Sept

Thank you for entering the Charles Stewart Memorial Cup to be held tomorrow Sat 24th Sept at Fishermans Beach – AKA The Chucky!
The event is race #2 of the Anytime Fitness AORS presented by Shaw and Partners.
Course updates
Due to the light wind prediction we are looking at making the Long Course two laps.
Starting at Fishermans out around Long Reef across to Dee Why Point and back (16.8k). This will give paddlers two cracks at some potential downwind from Dee Why across to Long Reef and also some small wave action around Makaha (Northern Side Of Long Reef).
If the swell is bigger than predicted a buoy will be placed off Long Reef to enable safe passage when passing this area.
SUP/Paddleboard/Short Course
We have two courses in mind for tomorrow and this will be dictated by wind speed in the morning.
Course one is one lap of the long course (8.4k)
Course two is a two lap course from Fishermans to a buoy due East of Makaha and back to Fishermans (8k).
Final courses will be decided in the morning.
We are taking wind speed and swell height into account to give paddlers a fun, challenging, competitive course and a safe course without dumbing the course down too much.
There is a lot of parking around Fishermans but this will fill up quickly as we are expecting a  big turnout. Beware that some of the parking spots are for cars with trailers and you will be booked if you park in these spots without a trailer.
As per race rules Lifejacket and Leashes are required to race in this event. Please make sure you have both and your Lifejacket complies with the regulations. If you don’t have a bright Lifejacket please endeavor to wear either hi-viz hat or shirt.
We have numerous safety craft including IRBs, rigid hull vessels, PWCs and there will two lifeguards on rescue boards positioned around Makaha and Long Reef Point.
