The second event in the Anytime Fitness AORS presented by Men’s Fitness was held in light to moderate conditions in Adelaide last weekend – The Natural Gas SA Ocean Paddling Series,  Snapper Rocks to Port Noarlunga.

A light sea breeze grew during the course of the race and by the finish was giving the competitors some very nice runs.

Quite a few interstate paddlers made the trip and although the event was a one star race it was worth the journey for those in the running for the National Title.

Local favourite Michael Baker and the Gold Coast’s Michael Booth battled for line honours up front with Booth only overcoming Baker in the closing stages of the 17km race. Following closely behind was Mike Murray followed by Dean Gardiner and Jeremy Cotter. CLICK HERE FOR FULL RESULTS

The series moves into overdrive with Coffs Harbour followed by the four events in the Western Australian leg of the series all happening in the next Month.

This weekend’s race at Coffs will be crucial for those wanting to make their mark on the series and organizers are expecting a big turnout with a few trailer loads making the trip down from Queensland.

“The series is shaping up nicely at the moment” Said Booth. “I was really happy with my race at Manly then to win this one means that I am in good shape going into this pretty hectic month of racing”. “Tim Jacobs and Murray Stewart are on fire at the moment and I am looking forward to racing those two guys again along with a host of others that depending on conditions can really effect the outcome of the race”
