Secondary Categories
All Ski primary category competitors are automatically entered in the Ski Overall secondary category. For example a Junior, Over 40 Ski or SLSA Spec Ski competitor is also entered in the Ski Overall secondary category. As per previous years, Oceanpaddler will use Ski Overall results when presenting results for the Ski Open results.
Competitors age is as of 31/12/2026. That is the age bracket the competitor is turning in the 2026 calendar year.
For example a surf ski paddler who is 19 or turning 19 in the 2026 calander year will race in the Under 19 category. Likewise a surf ski paddler who is 40 or turning 40 in the calandar year will race in the Over 40 category.
Competitors can only enter one category. For example a 50 year old entered in the SLSA Spec Ski primary category is not eligible for Over 50 Ski points and prizes, only SLSA Spec Ski primary category and Ski Overall secondary category.
There are currently 7 events in the Shaw and Partners AORS Series. Additional events may be added.
Each event has a star value of either 1 or 3 Stars, with the points starting from 1000 and 3000 respectively, as listed below.
Competitors will be awarded points per race based on the star rating of the event and their position in the race.
To be eligible for AORS rankings compeitors must:
The total accumulative points across the Shaw and Parners 20 Beaches, Shaw and Partners Doctor and the competitors highest ranking 1 star event will be used to determine the overall placing in the AORS.
If two or more competitors end up on the same overall AORS point score the result from The Doctor will decide the winner, followed by the 20 Beaches, then the 1 star event.
