Australian Championship for Ocean Paddling

Shaw and Partners 20 Beaches Ocean Classic

The 30th Edition of the Shaw and Partners 20 Beaches Ocean Classic set to become the Australian Championship for Ocean Paddling.

We are excited to announce that the 2024 Edition of the Shaw and Partners 20 Beaches Ocean Classic will this year become the Australian Championship of Ocean Paddling as part of the Australian Ocean Racing Series.

The 2024 Shaw and Partners 20 Beaches will be the 30th running of this longstanding race first held in 1990 and to be named as the Australian Championship for 2024 is the obvious choice given the race’s history and prestige.

The 2024 Shaw and Partners Ocean Classic will crown an Australian Champion across all divisions and will also be part of the 2024 Shaw and Partners Australian Ocean Racing Series which competitors can earn points for.

This 2024 AORS Australian Championship sees the Shaw and Partners AORS & Oceanpaddler join forces with the Shaw and Partners 20 Beaches organising committee to bring this new format to the paddlers in 2024.

Oceanpaddler’s Dean Gardiner commentated that “Most of the paddlers currently doing the AORS love the fact that a National Champs is decided over a series rather than a one off. There are some paddlers out there that also like training for one big race, so we have decided to make the Shaw and Partners 20 Beaches that event this season”. In the future the “ Nats” will move to another event within the Shaw and Partners AORS” he added.

The Shaw and Partners Australian Ocean Racing Series will remain the same culminating with the World Series of Oceanpaddling in November, The Shaw and Partners WA Race Week.

Stay tuned for another exciting announcement in regards to the 2024 Shaw and Partners 20 Beaches Classic and the 30th edition celebration.
